Sioux Falls and the Corn Palace

6-20-12

After putting everything together on the RV, we head N to US90 which follows the southern part of SD, east to west. We stopped at Sioux Falls to see the falls carved thru pink quartzite. A restaurant served lunch from the old power house and we could sit outside and watch the kids climbing all over the rocks that almost formed steps down to the water. We tried to find the Japanese gardens but the idea of trying to find parking for the RV made us question whether it was a place we could get to, and then there was the thunder. Back on highway, we figured we had to stop to see the Corn Palace since it was so heavily advertised. Well, it was CORNY all right. I was just glad there was no charge. Actually, it seemed to be a center for entertainers to perform with bleachers and a good sized stage. Other than that, there were pictures of the designs of the front of the building made from ears of corn from other years. We walked to a local restaurant for a mediocre dinner but interesting customers. Back at the RV, we drove to a local RV park where we enjoyed another Tigers baseball game, even though they lost.
